MUSCAT: The second edition of the TAS Inter-School Badminton Tournament has received an overwhelming response, with teams preparing to compete in the much-awaited school sporting event on October 10, 2026.

Organised by The Arabian Stories (TAS) in partnership with Morning Stars Badminton Club, the tournament will be held at Kosmos Badminton Academy in Wadi Kabir, bringing together young badminton players for a day of competitive action, sportsmanship and school spirit.

The strong response follows the success of the inaugural edition, which emerged as an exciting addition to Oman’s school sports calendar.

The first edition attracted more than 120 young players from leading Indian schools across Muscat, with nearly 150 matches played over two action-packed days.

Indian School Al Ghubra emerged champions and lifted the Ever-Rolling Trophy, while Indian School Muscat(ISM) produced a strong performance to finish close behind.

Beyond the competition on court, the tournament also created a vibrant atmosphere among participating schools, with students turning out to support their teams. A special Best Cheerleading Squad award recognised the enthusiasm and energy displayed by supporters.

Building on the success of its debut edition, this year’s tournament is expected to provide an even bigger platform for promising young players to demonstrate their skills and compete for school honours.

The initiative forms part of TAS’s continued efforts to encourage youth participation in sport, nurture emerging talent and create platforms that bring together students, schools and the wider community.
