DUQM : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm on Wednesday, reviewing major economic, investment and development projects as Oman seeks to strengthen the area’s position as an integrated economic and logistics hub.
During the visit, His Majesty was briefed on the expansion of investment activity in Duqm in recent years and efforts to develop the zone into a comprehensive economic centre, Oman TV reported.
His Majesty the Sultan also received a briefing on the Special Economic Zone at Duqm and the Port of Duqm, including recently completed projects and future development plans aimed at creating a more attractive investment environment and drawing additional domestic and foreign capital.

His Majesty gave directives to continue developing and capitalising on Duqm’s economic potential, with a focus on consolidating its position as a promising economic and logistics centre and maximising the benefits of its strategic location.
His Majesty was received on arrival at the Port of Duqm by the Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), along with senior port officials and representatives of companies operating in the zone.
