MUSCAT : Global energy technology company SLB has secured a major contract from OQ Exploration & Production (OQEP) to deliver the Bisat-B Expansion Production Facility in Oman, extending a partnership between the two companies as OQEP moves ahead with the next phase of development at the Bisat Field.
Under the contract, SLB will undertake the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the expanded facility, followed by four years of operations and maintenance support.
The expansion is expected to increase the facility’s gross fluids handling capacity to 548,000 barrels per day. The project is scheduled to be completed within 19 months, SLB said in a statement on Wednesday.

The project forms part of OQEP’s plans to expand production infrastructure at the Bisat Field and support future production growth.
The latest award builds on previous projects delivered by SLB for OQEP at Bisat. SLB delivered the Bisat-A facility in 2018 and the original Bisat-B facility in 2020.
The company said its scope for the new expansion would cover the project from engineering through commissioning, before transitioning to the four-year operations and maintenance phase.

The contract further deepens SLB’s relationship with OQEP and gives the company responsibility for both delivery and subsequent operational support of the expanded facility.
SLB, which operates in more than 100 countries, provides technology and services across oil and gas, digital solutions, industrial decarbonisation and new energy systems.
