MUSCAT: The four-year renewal follows the centre’s successful fulfilment of the technical and administrative criteria approved by the WHO, according to the Ministry of Health.
The centre is the first WHO Collaborating Centre dedicated to quality and patient safety in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, and the renewal marks its third consecutive designation since its first cycle began in 2018.
The Ministry of Health said the renewed designation represents international recognition of the capabilities of Oman’s national workforce in healthcare quality and patient safety.

It also reinforces the strategic partnership between Oman and the WHO to strengthen healthcare systems and support capacity-building and the transfer of expertise among countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
