Muscat: The opening stage of the league is being held in a group format at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, featuring Al Shabab, Salalah, Quriyat, Al Amerat, Fanja, Saham, Sohar, Al Bashair and Masirah clubs.
The opening day produced a closely fought 1-1 draw between Al Shabab and Salalah, while Quriyat made a strong start with a 4-2 victory over Al Amerat.
The league is seen as an important part of Oman’s women’s football development programme, providing players with regular competitive action while helping improve technical standards and giving clubs greater opportunities to build and strengthen their women’s teams.

The competition will continue through its various stages until December 19, 2026.
Under the approved tournament format, the first stage will be played in groups, while teams qualifying for the second stage will compete in a single-group home-and-away format.
The Oman Football Association said the league forms part of its wider efforts to support the growth of women’s football, develop the domestic competition structure and create a stronger competitive environment for identifying and developing players.
