MUSCAT: Team D.A.D.S (Dance Academy by Delicious Sahadevan) has become the first Indian team to reach the Top 16 in the MegaCrew category at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, marking a milestone for the country’s competitive hip-hop dance scene.
The team, competing in association with The Champ Sports & Arts, represented India at the championship held in Phoenix, Arizona, in July 2026, where 32 crews from different countries competed in the MegaCrew category.
Team D.A.D.S advanced through the competition to reach the semifinal stage, securing a place among the world’s Top 16 crews.

The international appearance followed the team’s victory at the Indian Hip Hop Dance Championship on January 11, where it secured first place in the MegaCrew category after competing against 21 teams from across India.
The team was led by founder and principal choreographer Delicious Sahadevan, with choreography by Harshal, Nixon, Ajay, Rahul, Nagesh, Sumit and Salim.
The 18-member performing team comprised Aanviya, Abhinanda, Ajay, Akshitha, Aliyah, Anaida, Eva, Gowri, Jaza, Johanna, Madhav, Neeraja, Niranjana, Nelvin, Nixon, Sumit, Shreddha and Tania.
Costumes for the international competition were designed by Arpita and Juliana.
The achievement followed months of preparation and training as the dancers progressed from the national championship to the international stage.
Team D.A.D.S said the milestone reflects its efforts to create opportunities for dancers from India and Oman to compete at national and international levels.
