MUSCAT : Al-Rawahi, accompanied by Jordanian navigator Atta Al-Hamoud, delivered a commanding performance to finish ahead of Jordan’s Shaker Juwaihan, who secured second place, while compatriot Bader Al-Fayez finished third.
Driving a Skoda Fabia R5, Al-Rawahi led every stage of the rally and built a comfortable advantage over his nearest rivals despite challenging conditions and high temperatures in the Dead Sea region.
The Omani driver said the primary objective of taking part in the fifth round was to further develop the car’s performance and test it on the same stages used for the Jordan International Rally, but under different speeds and conditions.

He also used the event to work on reducing mistakes made during his participation in this year’s Jordan International Rally.
Speaking after the rally, Al-Rawahi said the event proved difficult for all competitors because of the high temperatures and its relatively long format.
He added that the team is now working on plans for its upcoming competitions and expressed hope of participating in the Cyprus International Rally scheduled for October.
