MUSCAT : In a video message, the ministry urged citizens to become productive and active members of the labour market rather than merely being listed as employees on company records.
The ministry said registering a citizen as an employee without actual work, in exchange for an establishment benefiting from government facilities or reduced fees, undermines national workforce development and obstructs the development of national competencies.
Such arrangements can also prevent citizens from gaining practical experience, learning a profession and building sustainable careers, according to the ministry.
