Oman’s FSA gains global quality milestone with ISO 9001 certification

Oman’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) has obtained the ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system.

MUSCAT : The certification reflects the Authority’s commitment to adopting international administrative standards and best practices while enhancing the quality of services provided to employees and clients across the non-banking financial sector, including the capital market, insurance, accounting and auditing professions.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Salem Al Salmi, Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Authority, received the certificate.

The FSA said the achievement followed sustained efforts and coordinated institutional work involving various sectors and units across the Authority. The process included reviewing and developing procedures, improving operational processes, enhancing performance efficiency and ensuring compliance with internationally approved quality standards.

The Authority described the ISO 9001 certification as an important milestone in its journey towards institutional excellence, reflecting its commitment to effective management practices that improve processes, raise performance standards and support its strategic goals and future aspirations.

It added that cooperation between different sectors and units, along with a strong team-based approach, played a key role in successfully implementing the quality management system and meeting the required standards.

The Authority also acknowledged the efforts and contributions of its employees throughout the various stages of the project.
