MUSCAT : The sector is playing an increasingly important role in supporting the governorate’s local economy, creating opportunities for small and medium enterprises and benefiting from Al Buraimi’s strategic location near local and Gulf markets, as well as key airports.
Oman’s investment sector also witnessed notable growth in 2025, supported by increased government focus on financing and entrepreneurship. Official indicators showed that 106 financing loans worth more than RO 13.04 million were provided during the year.

Hilal bin Salem Al Hajri, owner of Al Taif Engineering Industries and Metal Structures, told the Oman News Agency that the company specialises in manufacturing structures, trailers, tanks and mobile camps for the oil and gas, construction, military and government sectors.
He said the company currently has a production capacity of 30 trailers per month and aims to increase this to 100 trailers per month through the introduction of automation systems and modern technologies.
The expansion is also aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the local market and increasing exports. Its products are currently exported to Gulf countries, Yemen, Sudan and Libya.
Al Hajri said the project has contributed to employment and economic development by creating more than 24 direct job opportunities for Omanis across administrative, technical and engineering roles.
He added that the company remains committed to increasing Omanisation levels and empowering national talent.
Beyond employment, the project also provides training and practical experience for students and graduates from universities, technical colleges and vocational institutions, giving them exposure to a real manufacturing environment and helping build technical capabilities among Omani youth.
Al Hajri also highlighted the role of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in facilitating financing and procedures and supporting the company through the Riyada card.
