MUSCAT: According to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the increase was driven in part by a rise in the value of sales contracts, which climbed 15.7 percent to RO 843.2 million, compared with RO 728.5 million a year earlier. The number of sales contracts also increased by 3.9 percent to 39,719, from 38,226 during the corresponding period of 2025.
The traded value of mortgage contracts edged up 0.7 percent to RO 864.4 million, compared with RO 858.4 million in the same period of 2025. The number of mortgage contracts, however, recorded a stronger increase of 22.3 percent, rising to 15,441 from 12,621.
The value of traded swap contracts increased by 33.6 percent to RO 8.2 million by the end of July 2026, compared with OMR 6.1 million during the same period last year. Despite the increase in value, the number of swap contracts fell by 41.6 percent to 411, compared with 704 in 2025.

Meanwhile, the number of properties issued in Oman declined by 10.7 percent to 119,832 by the end of July 2026, compared with 134,206 during the same period in 2025.
The number of properties issued to citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries also decreased, falling 11.2 percent to 643 from 724 a year earlier.
