Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said the number of visitors reached 1,116,051, compared with 1,027,255 visitors during the corresponding period in 2025.
Omani visitors accounted for the majority, with 816,719 visitors, representing 73.2% of the total.
Dhofar also welcomed 183,861 visitors from GCC countries, while 115,471 visitors from other nationalities travelled to the governorate during the period.

The data showed that 284,667 visitors arrived by air until the end of August, while 831,384 visitors entered Dhofar through land routes. Arrivals by land increased by 7.6% compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
August remained the busiest month of the season, attracting 643,602 visitors between August 1 and 31, accounting for 57.7% of the total number of visitors recorded during the period.
