MUSCAT : The case arose after the consumer contracted the establishment to install a motor and several crusher parts for RO 21,000. However, the work was not completed within the agreed timeframe because one of the parts required to operate the crusher was unavailable, leaving the equipment out of service and delaying the consumer’s ability to use it.
The Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah intervened to resolve the dispute between the two parties.
Under the settlement, the establishment agreed to complete the installation of the contracted motor and parts. A payment mechanism was also agreed, with the amount to be paid in instalments according to specified deadlines.
Both parties agreed to abide by the settlement terms, ensuring the consumer’s rights to the RO 21,000 were preserved.
