BANGKOK : The visa exemption follows a notification by the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand and applies to Indian ordinary passport holders entering Thailand for tourism purposes.

Despite the visa exemption, travellers must meet Thailand’s entry requirements. The Embassy advised visitors to carry a passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival, confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings and a clear travel itinerary.

Travellers must also complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours before arrival. The card can be completed through the Thai authorities’ online portal: .

Tourists using the visa-exemption facility should also carry at least THB 20,000 in cash per passenger, the Embassy said.

All the documents should be kept readily available before travellers proceed to the immigration counter on arrival, according to the advisory.

For visitors travelling in groups, the Embassy said each member must individually carry the required documents.

The Embassy also cautioned Indian nationals not to use the visa-exemption facility if they have received a job offer in Thailand. Travellers visiting the country for purposes other than tourism should obtain the appropriate visa based on the purpose of their travel.

Indian nationals transiting through Thailand should carry all relevant documents for their final destination, including an appropriate visa where required, the Embassy said.
