Bank Muscat and Meethaq Islamic Banking’s “Back to School” event draws strong family turnout at Muscat City Centre

 MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, continues to build on their commitment to community engagement, taking part in initiatives that matter to families across Oman. This was reflected once again in the strong turnout of customers and visitors at the “Back to School” event, held recently at Muscat City Centre, where children took part alongside their parents in a series of engaging activities.

The event was held to celebrate the start of the new academic year with children, drawing wide participation from young visitors. A variety of entertainment activities, competitions and games were organised throughout the event, including dedicated Math and Science activities, while a range of gifts were distributed to participants.

During the event, visitors also had the opportunity to learn more about the wide range of banking services, products and facilities offered by Bank Muscat both conventional and Islamic, including its various savings and current accounts, finance products and the wide range of cards, in addition to its digital banking services that allow customers to manage their accounts conveniently, anytime. On this occasion, Bank Muscat also offered a special rate on its Shahadati educational loan, with a reduced interest rate of 3.75% available until 30 October 2026. Designed specifically to help families cover the cost of private school fees, professional certifications and summer courses, Shahadati reflects the Bank’s continued commitment to supporting customers and easing their children’s educational journey.

On the Islamic banking front, visitors had the opportunity to explore Meethaq’s Sharia’a-compliant products and services, including children’s savings accounts and savings plans designed to help customers plan towards achieving their financial goals related to education and other objectives for achieving financial freedom. Visitors also learned about Meethaq’s personal financing solutions, designed to support customers in meeting their immediate needs related to education and medical financing, in addition to various financing solutions and cards with multiple feature and benefits. These products and solutions are developed in accordance with regulations issued by the Central Bank of Oman, and undergo a series of Sharia’a reviews and supervisory procedures by Meethaq’s Sharia’a Supervisory Board, ensuring compliance with the principles of Islamic Sharia’a while addressing customers’ financial needs and aspirations.
