Over 1,700 non-compliant school products seized in Oman’s North Sharqiyah Governorate

Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized 1,759 non-compliant school products in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate as part of a joint inspection campaign aimed at strengthening market compliance and protecting consumers.

MUSCAT : The products, which included school supplies featuring images and designs deemed contrary to public morals, were confiscated during the joint ‘Awareness and Commitment’ campaign conducted by the Consumer Protection Department in North Al Sharqiyah in cooperation with the Directorate of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The largest number of seized products was recorded in Ibra, where inspectors confiscated 716 items, followed by Al Mudhaibi with 656, Sinaw with 341 and Bidiyah with 46.

The authorities confiscated all non-compliant products and took the necessary legal measures against the violators, the CPA said.
