MUSCAT: The ROP called on those responsible for school transportation to ensure that no student is left behind on a bus after each journey and to carefully check the vehicle before leaving.

As part of its safety reminder, the ROP urged drivers and supervisors to:

  • Ensure all students have disembarked when the bus arrives.
  • Pay particular attention to students who may be sleeping or tired.
  • Check that the aisles and seats are clear.
  • Inspect the back seats carefully before leaving the bus.
  • Make checking the bus after every trip a regular routine.

The ROP said the start of a new academic year is a reminder that bus safety requires constant attention, encouraging those responsible for student transportation not to allow daily routines and busy schedules to compromise vigilance.
