MUSCAT : The ministry, in coordination with the Social Protection Fund, said eligible beneficiaries must activate their job search status between the first and 22nd of each month to avoid suspension of the allowance, in accordance with Article 88 of the Executive Regulations of the Social Protection Law.

The requirement is also intended to ensure fair competition among jobseekers for advertised employment opportunities and encourage beneficiaries to remain actively engaged with the labour market.

Jobseekers can activate their status by SMS by sending the civil ID number to 80057. The status can also be activated through the Ma’ak application or via the Ministry of Labour’s official website.

To update and activate their details online, jobseekers must access the Ministry of Labour website and select the job seeker services section, followed by the new job seeker service. After logging in using their phone number and the verification code sent to their mobile, users can access the registration and data update service.

Applicants are required to enter their Civil Number and ID card expiry date, retrieve relevant data from selected institutions and update personal information, including training courses, skills and driving licences. The ministry said submitted information will be reviewed for approval.

Beneficiaries must also upload a to-whom-it-may-concern letter and their CV through the messages section before completing the process by selecting the activation option.

The ministry said maintaining an active job search status is essential for beneficiaries to continue receiving the Job Security Allowance while remaining eligible to compete for available employment opportunities.
