MUSCAT : Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has temporarily closed a marble and ceramic trading establishment in Rustaq following multiple consumer complaints over its failure to provide services agreed under contracts.
The Consumer Protection Department in Rustaq, in cooperation with the Public Prosecution, ordered the closure of the establishment and suspended its operations pending a ruling in the case filed against it, the authority said on Monday.
The action followed several complaints from consumers who said the establishment had failed to fulfil agreed services, resulting in losses linked to unmet contractual obligations.

The authority urged commercial establishments across the Sultanate to comply with applicable laws and regulations, honour their contractual commitments and refrain from practices that could harm consumers.
