NÜRBURG, Germany: Oman’s Ahmad Al Harthy and teammates Calan Williams and Javier Sagrera produced a determined recovery to secure fifth place in the Bronze Cup at the Nürburgring on Sunday, collecting valuable championship points after a challenging weekend.
The Oman Racing by Century Motorsport trio started the three-hour race ninth in class after technical issues hampered their BMW M4 GT3 EVO during practice and qualifying.
Al Harthy took the opening stint and quickly began moving through the field. After avoiding trouble at the first corner, the Omani driver climbed to eighth and then seventh before reaching sixth during the opening hour.

A Full Course Yellow triggered by a stranded McLaren brought the field under control and, as teams began making their mandatory pit stops, Al Harthy briefly moved as high as fourth before handing the car to Williams.
The Australian returned to the track fifth in class but dropped places following a Safety Car period caused by a collision.
Williams responded strongly after another interruption later in the race. With several rivals battling ahead of him, he capitalised on the traffic and swept past three cars in one move before briefly taking the Bronze Cup lead as the final round of pit stops unfolded.
He pitted on lap 58 to hand over to Sagrera for the final stint.
The Spaniard rejoined sixth with about 50 minutes remaining before a penalty for a rival promoted the No. 42 BMW into fifth, a position Sagrera maintained to the chequered flag.
The result was Oman Racing’s second-best finish of the 2026 Endurance Cup season and lifted Al Harthy, Williams and Sagrera to 10th in the Bronze Cup standings with 34 points.
“P5 is a very, very strong result for us considering the technical issues we had all week in the build-up to the race,” Al Harthy said.
“To get such a strong result at a very tough circuit and in a very competitive race was a very positive end to the weekend.”
He thanked the team for its work throughout the weekend and said the focus would now turn to resolving the technical problems ahead of the season finale.
The Bronze Cup victory went to Kiern Jewiss, Charles Dawson and Reece Barr of 2Seas Motorsport, ahead of Winward Racing’s Marvin Dienst, Gabriele Piana and Rinat Salikhov.
Dennis Marschall, Lorenzo Patrese and Constantin Dressler finished third for Kessel Racing.
Marschall leads the Bronze Cup standings with 102 points after four rounds.
The fifth and final round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal.
