MUSCAT: According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the regulation provides compensation for passengers who are denied boarding despite having a confirmed seat, as well as in cases where an undisclosed stopover is added to their journey.

In certain circumstances, passengers also have the right to terminate their travel contract and receive a full refund of their ticket in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Air carriers are required to refund amounts due or pay compensation within 14 working days, under the approved passenger protection rules.

The regulations also require airlines to provide care and accommodation costs in cases involving flight delays, where applicable.

Passengers who believe their rights have been violated can file complaints and appeals with the competent authority through the approved procedures.
