Oman police arrest gang over theft of more than 130 livestock

The suspects, who have criminal records, are accused of stealing animals from several farms and livestock enclosures in Saham and Al Khaboura.

MUSCAT : Oman’s Royal Oman Police have arrested a group of people accused of stealing more than 130 livestock from farms in North Al Batinah Governorate.

The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested the suspects, who have previous criminal records, after they allegedly stole livestock from several farms and animal enclosures in the wilayats of Saham and Al Khaboura, police said on Sunday.

More than 130 animals were stolen in the incidents, according to the Royal Oman Police.

Police did not disclose the number or nationalities of those arrested, or provide further details about the stolen livestock.

Legal procedures against the suspects are being completed, the Royal Oman Police said.
