Another major project is Sahool Al-Rathath, an integrated urban development planned for the Atin area in the Wilayat of Salalah. The project covers approximately 470,000 square metres and carries an estimated investment value of RO 40 million, including RO 15 million in government investment.
Developed in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality, the project will include hospitality, retail, entertainment and business facilities, alongside public spaces and supporting infrastructure. It is expected to strengthen Atin’s appeal as a destination for both residents and visitors.
In the ecotourism sector, the Botanical Memory Garden at Razat Plain is being offered in cooperation with the Environment Authority. Spread across around 1.5 million square metres, the project has an estimated investment value of RO 4 million.
The development will focus on preserving rare and endangered Omani plants while integrating scientific research, education and ecotourism, creating a destination that highlights Dhofar’s rich biodiversity and natural heritage.
The platform is also offering an eco-lodge and visitor centre project at Khor Sanaq in Hasik, Wilayat of Sadah. Covering approximately 47,000 square metres, the project carries an estimated investment value of RO 3.9 million.
It will include an eco-lodge, visitor centre, wellness experiences and outdoor activities, supported by renewable energy and low-impact environmental systems designed to complement the natural characteristics of the area.
In marine tourism, a diving club project in the Hallaniyat Islands is being offered in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The RO 1.5 million project will cover around 5,000 square metres.
It is designed to develop a specialised destination for diving and marine tourism, including diving training, equipment rental, marine excursions and environmentally friendly accommodation. The project is expected to build on the islands’ distinctive marine biodiversity while supporting adventure and sustainable tourism.
The five projects underline Dhofar’s investment potential across its coastline, marine sites, nature reserves, biodiversity, tourism assets and expanding urban landscape.
The “Invest in Oman” platform enables investors to review the basic details, size and potential of available projects while facilitating direct connections with the government entities responsible for them.
H.E. Dr Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, said the governorate’s diverse natural, geographical and economic assets make it an attractive investment destination, particularly in tourism, urban development and the green economy.
He said the projects would help transform Dhofar’s natural and economic advantages into value-added investments, strengthen economic diversification and reinforce the governorate’s position as a sustainable year-round tourism and investment destination.
Lamia bint Sultan Al Habsi, Assistant Director General of Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said the opportunities reflected Dhofar’s diverse assets and strong potential for local and international investors.
She added that “Invest in Oman” works with relevant government agencies to present investment opportunities clearly, provide investors with essential information and facilitate communication with project owners.
The ministry said the initiative forms part of wider efforts to enhance Oman’s investment environment, attract high-quality investment, increase private-sector participation and promote local added value.
