MUSCAT: Oman’s Ahmad Al Harthy will return to racing after a two-month break when the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup heads to Germany’s Nürburgring for the fourth and penultimate round of the 2026 season this weekend.
Al Harthy will share the Oman Racing by Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO with Calan Williams and Javier Sagrera in Sunday’s three-hour race, with the trio targeting a return to the Bronze Cup podium after their retirement from the 24 Hours of Spa.
The Nürburgring appearance will be Al Harthy’s first at the German circuit since 2024 and comes at BMW’s home event. The 2026 campaign is the Omani driver’s third season racing with BMW machinery.

Al Harthy, Williams and Sagrera began their Endurance Cup campaign with a top-six Bronze Cup finish at Circuit Paul Ricard in France in April before securing third place at Monza in May.
At Monza, the trio climbed from eighth on the Bronze Cup grid and 47th overall to finish third in class and just outside the overall top 10, delivering the first podium for the Oman Racing by Century Motorsport partnership.
Their momentum was interrupted at the 24 Hours of Spa in July. Damage sustained on the opening lap forced the team into a recovery drive, but further contact later in the race eventually resulted in retirement.
Al Harthy said the team had used the break since Spa to prepare for the Nürburgring and was focused on returning to podium contention.
“It’s been a long break of a couple of months since we were last in action at Spa, but we’ve been working hard behind the scenes and focusing on delivering the best car and set-up we can for this weekend,” Al Harthy said.
“Spa was disappointing, but the effort and performance the whole team produced was incredible. Hopefully we can be back challenging for the podium and pull some points back in the championship.”
The Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit features 15 corners across its 5.1-km layout and will host testing on Friday, followed by practice on Saturday.
Qualifying is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. local time on Sunday, August 30, with the three-hour race beginning at 3 p.m.
