Tokyo: According to a Reuters survey, the vast majority of Japanese firms (over 80%) reported that their use of AI was limited, and only 16% said they had already adopted it.

This hesitation is caused not only by technological advancement. Companies also have to deal with a lack of AI expertise and uncertainty regarding integration and security. As a result, many companies are still using AI for tasks such as writing various documents rather than leveraging its potential in their business processes. Further, it seems that Japan’s corporate mentality hinders companies from being brave enough in this dynamic technological world.

Yet, there is a noticeable change in the atmosphere right now. The survey was quite encouraging, showing that none of the companies reported plans to cut AI expenses, suggesting that the trend toward expanding AI usage persists despite companies still figuring out how to use it effectively.
