Muscat: The EMC said the earthquake occurred at 9:57 am Oman time at a depth of approximately 2 kilometres.
According to the centre, the tremor was recorded around 133 kilometres from Salalah.
The Earthquake Monitoring Centre confirmed the seismic activity in an online statement issued on Sunday. No reports of damage or injuries were immediately announced.
