Muscat: The championship is organised by the Omani Modern Triathlon Committee, affiliated with the Oman Olympic Committee, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Office of the Wali of Bausher.
Lieutenant Colonel Hood bin Sultan Al Nabhani, Chairman of the Omani Modern Triathlon Committee, said triathlon is a modern sport combining three disciplines — swimming, cycling and running.
He said the 2026 league has been structured across five rounds to provide athletes with regular competitive opportunities and help them improve their technical and physical performance.

Publicly available race listings also confirm the five-round championship series running from August 2026 to January 2027.
Al Nabhani said the league also aims to expand the popularity of triathlon in Oman and identify promising Omani athletes who could eventually be included in national team development programmes.
A dedicated race was also organised for children and young athletes aged seven to 14, aimed at encouraging participation and discovering talent from an early age. The youth race consisted of a 300-metre swim followed by a one-kilometre run.
