Muscat: Oman have been drawn in Group A of the Western Region alongside hosts the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Nepal. The group matches will be played in Dubai during the international window running from August 24 to September 1, with the competition itself scheduled from August 26 to 31.
The five teams will compete in a single round-robin format, with each side playing four matches. The top three teams from the group will advance to the second round of the pre-qualifiers, making every fixture crucial to Oman’s hopes of progressing on the road to the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup.
Ahead of the tournament, the national team is holding an external training camp in Dubai from August 16 to 24, building on its domestic preparation programme. The coaching staff has focused on improving the players’ physical and technical readiness while strengthening team chemistry and collective tactical play.
