MUSCAT : According to an update issued at 1:20 pm on Saturday, August 15, authorities in Ras Madrakah and Duqm have been carrying out daily tests on water samples. All results have confirmed that the samples are safe and comply with approved specifications.
In Masirah Wilayat, the water sector continues to maintain a heightened level of readiness to deal with any potential impacts.
Authorities are currently preparing shoreline wells to serve as an alternative water source. The wells are expected to be ready for operation within a maximum of three to four days.

As an additional precaution, water levels in the main reservoirs have been increased, while supplementary reservoirs with a combined capacity of 1,500 cubic metres have also been prepared for use.
Officials have also secured sufficient bottled drinking water to meet requirements for 10 days.
Large-capacity water tankers have been made available, while additional tankers capable of carrying 10,000 gallons each are expected to arrive in Masirah successively.
