MUSCAT: Oman Arab Bank said Al Harthi submitted his resignation as Chief Executive Officer on August 8, with the bank’s Board of Directors accepting his resignation at a meeting on August 9.
Al Harthi will, however, remain involved with the bank until the end of 2026 to oversee the successful completion of OAB’s proposed merger, which was disclosed by the bank on July 19, as well as subsequent related disclosures.
As part of its succession plan, OAB’s board approved the appointment of Ali bin Saif Al Mani as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2027, subject to obtaining the required regulatory approvals.

Al Mani currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Alizz Islamic Bank and has more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services. He has held several senior leadership positions at major financial institutions in Oman.
OAB’s Board of Directors thanked Al Harthi for his continued leadership and support during the transition period.
The bank said further announcements would be made as required and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
