GAZA: In a statement, the ICRC stressed that all detainees must be treated humanely, held under appropriate detention conditions and allowed to communicate with their families, in accordance with international humanitarian law.
The committee said it had facilitated the transfer of 37 released detainees, including a woman, from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing to Nasser Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip. It also facilitated their communication with and reunification with their families.
The ICRC said that since 2023, it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,700 detainees released under similar arrangements.

However, the committee said it has been unable to access Palestinian detainees held in Israeli detention facilities since October 2023.
The ICRC noted that many Palestinian families continue to wait anxiously for information about detained relatives, amid concerns over their health and safety.
It reaffirmed that it is continuing efforts to resume visits to all Palestinian detainees and to obtain information about their conditions and whereabouts.
