MUSCAT : The campaign, carried out by CPA with the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, targeted fuel stations across the governorate to verify compliance with approved technical standards and metrological requirements, the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations, as well as regulated fuel prices.

During the inspections, authorities found that several fuel dispensing pumps at one station did not meet the approved standards and measurement requirements.

The Consumer Protection Authority said legal action has been initiated against the violating establishment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The name of the fuel station was not disclosed.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening market oversight in cooperation with relevant government entities to safeguard consumer rights, improve service quality and ensure a fair, safe and well-regulated marketplace.
