MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” organised a promotional roadshow across five cities in China to strengthen the Sultanate of Oman’s position as an ideal destination for industrial and technology investments, and a strategic gateway for Chinese companies seeking to expand into the GCC and Middle East markets.

The roadshow aimed to exchange expertise in the management of industrial cities, innovation ecosystem development, investment attraction and business development, while showcasing the available investment opportunities at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) – Madayn’s technology arm – and exploring collaboration with Chinese companies operating in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced manufacturing and industrial technologies.

The roadshow included a discussion session titled “Oman: A Gateway to the GCC”, which was attended by representatives of key robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing and technology Chinese companies. The session spotlighted the opportunities for Chinese businesses to access Middle Eastern markets through the Sultanate of Oman by leveraging its strategic location, integrated industrial and logistics infrastructure, and extensive network of trade agreements.

Madayn also participated in a forum on the ‘Robotics Ecosystem’ and the available investment opportunities in the region, alongside a panel discussion on ‘Manufacturing Robotics’, featuring presentations of selected projects in robotics and intelligent manufacturing.

Moreover, the roadshow included site visits to industrial complexes, manufacturing facilities and leading companies to explore advanced technologies and identify opportunities for industrial and investment partnerships. Additionally, Madayn held meetings with officials specialising in artificial intelligence and the digital economy to gain insights into China’s innovation ecosystem and explore business opportunities for future cooperation.
