MUSCAT: In a statement, the municipality said its health inspection team visited the establishment after online posts raised concerns about the preparation and serving of a food product. Officials collected samples from the site and submitted them to a specialised laboratory for analysis.

Initial laboratory results confirmed that the sample was undercooked and contained traces of blood. As a precautionary measure, the municipality ordered the temporary closure of the establishment until the remaining laboratory tests are completed and full compliance with approved health and food safety standards is verified.

The municipality reaffirmed that it will continue intensifying health inspections and monitoring of food establishments across the governorate to ensure compliance with health requirements and maintain food safety standards during the busy Khareef season, when the region receives a large influx of visitors.
