MUSCAT : Ibri Industrial City has attracted investments worth approximately RO25 million by the end of the first half of 2026, with 17 investment contracts signed across key sectors including oil and gas, food processing, manufacturing and light industries.

The projects cover a combined area of more than 250,000 square metres, reflecting continued investment activity at the industrial city, which is operated by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn).

Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi, Director General of Ibri Industrial City, said Madayn continues to strengthen the city’s investment climate by attracting quality projects while working with government entities to unlock the economic potential of Al Dhahirah Governorate.

As part of those efforts, 11 investment opportunities in food manufacturing and organic fertiliser production have been launched through the Tharawat platform in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah. The opportunities have also been listed on the Tatweer platform in collaboration with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning to broaden investor outreach, encourage value-added industries, create jobs and support the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Madayn has also outlined several development projects for Ibri Industrial City under the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030). These include the construction of a security fence, an administration building, a Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in partnership with the SMEs Development Authority, protection works for the city’s service area and the expansion of green spaces.

Spanning 10 million square metres, of which more than 2.6 million square metres has already been developed, Ibri Industrial City offers an integrated industrial environment and benefits from its strategic location near the border crossings with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The governorate is also known for its competitive advantages in marble- and chrome-related industries.
