WASHINGTON : The US technology giant said the new capabilities are powered by its upgraded Muse Spark 1.1 artificial intelligence model, which allows its chatbot to independently carry out a range of tasks and services.

According to the company, the updated system can understand a user’s personal context and circumstances, enabling it to prepare daily reports, provide comprehensive summaries of events and schedule recurring activities.

Users will also be able to assign tasks such as creating weekly plans and tracking trending content across digital platforms.

Meta said the services will initially be introduced in selected markets through its mobile application and website. The company plans to gradually expand the features to other platforms, including WhatsApp.

The company also emphasised that user privacy and confidentiality will remain protected, with options such as hidden chats available for users seeking additional privacy.

In a related development, Meta announced the launch of a new application called Seller, which will provide customised sales solutions and business tools for entrepreneurs and merchants operating through the Facebook Store platform.

Meanwhile, Meta is scheduled to announce its financial results and investment performance for the second quarter after US financial markets close on July 29.
