HONG KONG : The Hong Kong Observatory said the typhoon was moving steadily across the northeastern South China Sea on Saturday, with maximum sustained winds of around 130 km/h near its centre.
Noul is forecast to move closer to the eastern Guangdong coast and could make landfall on Sunday morning near the cities of Huizhou and Shanwei.
The storm is expected to bring heavy squally showers, strong winds and thunderstorms to Hong Kong and surrounding areas as it approaches the coastline.

China’s National Meteorological Center has also warned that southeastern Guangdong and the southern coast of Fujian could experience heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
