Gaza: In a statement released today, the movement said al-Hayya had been chosen to lead its political bureau following the death of Sinwar, describing the former leader as a “martyr.”
Al-Hayya is regarded as one of Hamas’s most prominent political figures from the Gaza Strip and had previously served as deputy head of the group’s political bureau. He has also played a key role in the movement’s political and negotiation efforts in recent years.
