DHAKA – Floodwaters have inundated large areas across seven of Bangladesh’s 64 administrative districts, affecting more than one million people, while many residents remain stranded due to the widespread flooding.
The latest figure marks an increase from the previous reported death toll of 44 people as rescue and relief efforts continue in affected areas.
Bangladesh is among the countries most vulnerable to climate-related disasters, with seasonal monsoon rains frequently causing severe flooding and landslides that impact communities across the country.
