Washington: From 48 teams at the start of the tournament, only four footballing heavyweights now remain in the race to lift the trophy on July 19.

France booked their place in the last four with a 2-0 win over Morocco, while Spain edged past Belgium 2-1 to continue their impressive run.

England also sealed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Norway, powered by Jude Bellingham’s brilliance in the knockout stage, while defending champions Argentina advanced with a 3-1 win over Switzerland.

France will face Spain on Tuesday, July 14, at Dallas Stadium, with kickoff set for 2pm local time. The second semifinal will see England take on Argentina on Wednesday, July 15, at Atlanta Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3pm local time. The final is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe when France meet Spain in Dallas. The French star has been in sensational form throughout the tournament and will look to continue his scoring streak against La Roja. Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembele are also expected to play key roles as France chase another World Cup final.

Spain, meanwhile, will turn to teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who is set to feature in his first World Cup semifinal. The reigning European champions will also be hoping for another decisive impact from Mikel Merino, who has scored late winners off the bench in Spain’s last two matches.

In the second semifinal, England captain Harry Kane remains central to his team’s hopes, but Jude Bellingham has emerged as the nation’s knockout-stage hero. The England No. 10 has moved into Golden Boot contention with six goals, including two in the quarterfinal victory over Norway.

Argentina’s title defence continues to be driven by Lionel Messi, who has scored eight goals in six matches. Although he did not find the net in the quarterfinal, the Argentine captain will be determined to leave his mark in the semifinal and guide the defending champions into a second consecutive World Cup final.
