MUSCAT : The nationwide campaign, scheduled from July 23 to August 1, 2026, encourages companies and retailers to turn their commercial offers into a message of support and empowerment, helping improve access to goods and services for persons with disabilities.
The ministry said participation in Purple Saturday provides businesses with an opportunity to contribute to building a more inclusive society, support the economic and social participation of persons with disabilities, and strengthen community partnerships.
Participating establishments are expected to offer dedicated promotions and discounts during the campaign period, highlighting their commitment to social responsibility while enhancing their engagement with a wider segment of consumers.
Purple Saturday is part of wider regional efforts across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to advance disability inclusion, improve accessibility, and encourage businesses to adopt practices that support persons with disabilities. Similar initiatives across the region have focused on strengthening partnerships between government entities, private companies and community organisations to promote a more inclusive environment.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said businesses wishing to participate can submit details of their offers and discounts through the designated email: cld@tejarah.gov.om.
