MUSCAT : Led by 6th Dan Black Belt Renshi G. Kumar, the academy’s team will first participate in the Isshinryu World Karate Tournament in Chennai from July 25-26, before travelling to Okinawa, Japan – the birthplace of karate – for the 3rd Okinawa Karate World Tournament, scheduled from July 29 to August 2.
More than 80 countries are expected to take part in the two international events, bringing together karate practitioners from around the world.
The Omani delegation comprises Renshi G. Kumar, who will compete in Kata, Kumite and Kobudo, alongside athletes Raghav Krishtapparaj, Pranav V. Nair, Yusuf Salahuddin, Abu Bakr Siddiq, Gopeshkrithik Parthasarathy, Gunit Chaturvedi, Taha Faris, Maryam Faris, Rudra Vishal, Pranav Krishtapparaj and Prarthana Menon.
“Representing our academy and the Sultanate of Oman on this scale is a tremendous honour,” said Renshi G. Kumar. “Our students have trained with intense focus and discipline. We are prepared to give our best in both Chennai and Okinawa.”
