TEHRAN : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the position was in line with paragraph 13 of the memorandum of understanding reached with the US, stressing that dialogue could not move forward under pressure.

In a post on X, Araghchi said millions of Iranians were gathering for the funeral ceremonies of slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, adding that neither the public nor Iran’s armed forces would be swayed by threats.

“Honour your signature,” he said, in an apparent reference to the agreement between Tehran and Washington.

The remarks came after US President Donald Trump said the United States would either secure a deal with Iran or “finish the job”, signalling the possibility of further action if negotiations fail.

Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office on Monday, Trump said the US had the capability to target Iran’s infrastructure, including bridges and energy supplies, while claiming that Tehran was facing severe financial strain.

The latest exchange comes as tensions remain high following Khamenei’s killing and large-scale funeral gatherings across Iran.
