Amman: Sellami, who took charge of Jordan in June 2024 after succeeding fellow Moroccan Hussein Ammouta, guided the team to a historic first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup finals. He also led Jordan to the final of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
Jordan Football Association President Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein thanked Sellami for his efforts and his contribution to one of the most significant achievements in the history of Jordanian football.
In a statement, the association acknowledged the coach’s role in taking the national team to the World Cup for the first time, despite the team’s early elimination from the tournament.
