MUSCAT – The consulate warned that the downpours could lead to waterlogging, severe traffic congestion, and disruptions or delays to transport services, potentially affecting mobility and public safety.
It advised citizens to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary, closely monitor weather forecasts and alerts issued by local authorities, and follow all official instructions.
The consulate also urged Omanis to stay away from low-lying areas, wadis and flood-prone locations, and not to attempt crossing flooded roads or waterlogged areas.
Citizens were further advised to plan their journeys in advance, taking into account the possibility of road closures and transport delays.
The Consulate General stressed the importance of contacting its offices in the event of emergencies or if consular assistance is required, while wishing all citizens continued safety and protection.
