MUSCAT – The agreement, announced by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, reflects the two countries’ shared vision of advancing cooperation in ways that support their mutual interests and contribute to the growth of Oman’s emerging space sector.
Under the letter of intent, the two sides will work to enhance scientific, technological and industrial cooperation, exchange expertise, support the development of Oman’s space industry and expand the use of space applications across a range of sectors.
The ministry said the cooperation is expected to reinforce the Oman-France economic partnership while supporting the long-term development of the Sultanate’s space ecosystem.
The latest agreement builds on a series of joint initiatives between Oman and France in the space sector. In 2023, Oman partnered with French consultancy Novaspace to develop the country’s national space policy and executive programme.
In 2025, Oman signed a contract with Airbus to design, manufacture and launch the Sultanate’s communications satellite.
France has also partnered with Oman in organising the first and second editions of the Middle East Space Conference in Muscat through Novaspace in 2024 and 2026.
Earlier this year, Omani space infrastructure company Etlaq signed a Letter of Intent with French launch services company Latitude to explore cooperation in the space industry.
