Venezuela earthquake death toll rises to 1,450 as 1.8 million need urgent aid

Caracas: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has warned that humanitarian needs in northern Venezuela have escalated significantly following the twin earthquakes that struck the region, including the capital Caracas, last Wednesday.

According to UNICEF, an estimated 1.8 million people are in need of emergency assistance, including 680,000 children who are facing growing challenges in accessing healthcare, clean water and education.
