MUSCAT — Indian nationals in Oman will have to pay higher fees for passport and related consular services from July 1, 2026, after the Government of India revised passport charges and Indian missions abroad updated their fee structures accordingly.
The Embassy of India in Muscat has released a new schedule of fees covering passport issuance, renewals, Tatkal services, emergency travel documents and passport-related certificates. The revised rates follow a recent notification issued by the Government of India amending passport service charges.
Under the new fee structure, the total cost of reissuing a standard 36-page passport will rise to RO53.750, while a 60-page jumbo passport will cost RO72.600. The charges include the passport fee, the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) contribution and service charges collected through the Indian Community Assistance Centre (ICAC).

Applicants seeking expedited processing under the Tatkal scheme will face steeper costs. A 36-page passport reissued under Tatkal will cost RO100.700, while a 60-page jumbo passport under the same category will cost RO119.500.
The revised schedule also increases charges for replacing lost or damaged passports. Reissuance of a lost or damaged 36-page passport will cost RO100.700, while a replacement 60-page passport will cost RO119.500 under the normal service category.
For minors, a fresh passport for children up to eight years of age will cost RO37.300, while reissuance fees range between RO40.600 and RO53.750, depending on the applicant’s age and passport validity period.
The embassy has also updated fees for emergency travel documents. An Emergency Certificate will cost RO12.500, while an Identity Certificate will be charged at RO25.600.
In addition, services such as Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), surrender certificates and other passport-related miscellaneous certificates will now cost RO21.800.
The embassy said the revised charges will apply to all applications submitted on or after July 1. It added that applicants will continue to receive services such as form filling, photocopying, photography and courier delivery through ICAC without additional charges.
The fee revision comes after India announced an increase in passport service charges across various categories, affecting both domestic applicants and Indian citizens seeking consular services through missions and embassies overseas.
