MUSCAT – Eng. Badr bin Nasser Al Rasbi, Farm Manager at the company, said production reached around 1,000 tonnes by the end of last week, adding that operations are progressing according to the approved annual production plan.

He said the company follows international standards in aquaculture and has obtained the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification since 2024, in addition to the ISO 22000 certification for food safety. The company also implements systems to reduce health and food safety risks, enhancing the quality and reliability of its products in local and international markets.

Al Rasbi said the company plans to increase production in the coming years by up to 175 per cent of current levels while expanding into new export markets, including European, South Korean and Chinese markets, alongside continuing to supply the domestic market.

He added that the company supports the localisation of the aquaculture sector by strengthening the presence of Omani seafood products and developing value-added products that contribute to diversifying supplies in local and regional markets.

Aquaculture is considered one of the promising sectors in South Sharqiyah Governorate, offering investment opportunities, supporting economic diversification, increasing local food production and contributing to the sustainable development of Oman’s fisheries sector.
