The initiative has also focused on developing national capabilities by conducting 12 specialised training batches for independent professionals in programming, networking, cybersecurity, databases and data science. The training aims to equip Omani talent with the skills needed to benefit from opportunities emerging in the digital economy.
In addition, Nafadh has encouraged a stronger culture of self-employment by enabling Omani youth to transform their technical expertise into sustainable careers and productive businesses, in line with the evolving demands of the labour market.
Engineer Ahmed bin Hassan Al-Hadabi, official spokesperson for the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, said the Nafath initiative is one of the country’s key national enablers for strengthening independent workers in the digital economy and connecting them with quality opportunities in the ICT sector.
Speaking to the Oman News Agency, he said the initiative has expanded access to technical projects, enhanced the competitiveness of national enterprises and maximised local added value by creating greater opportunities for Omani professionals to participate in the country’s growing technology sector.
Al-Hadabi added that the platform will continue to evolve to meet the needs of users and support Oman’s digital transformation agenda. Future development plans include direct technical integration with telecom operators and government and private sector entities, allowing projects and tenders to be uploaded automatically while simplifying application procedures and improving the overall user experience.
The next phase will also introduce a comprehensive project management system, analytical dashboards for performance monitoring and opportunity tracking, as well as integration with employment and training platforms to better align workforce development with labour market needs.
